There
are many historical places in Bangladesh, Paharpur and Mahasthangarh are two of
them. Today I will talk about these two historic sites.
1. Paharpur
Paharpur
is one of the best Historical Places in Bangladesh. in my view there are many historic
places in Bangladesh Paharpur is one of them.
About Paharpur Buddhist Vihar:
Paharpur
Buddhist Vihara or Sompur Vihar or Sompur Mahabihar at present ruins of an
ancient Buddhist monastery. It is located about 10 km north of Badalgachhi
Upazila headquarters in Naogaon district. Sri Dharmapaldev, the second king of
the dynasty, was building this monastery in the late eighth century or the
ninth century. UNESCO gave it the status of a World Heritage Site in 1985. Paharpur
can be called the largest Buddhist monastery in the world. This may be compared
to the Nalanda Mahabharat in India.
What is there Paharpur Buddhist Bihar:
The
size of Paharpur Buddhist monastery is 922 feet to the north-south and 919 feet
to the east-west. According to experts, Paharpur is among the best found in the
geometric designs of the world. According to some, there was a Jain temple
here. And the monument was erected on that temple. There are 177 houses in this
Bihar. Buddhist monks lived in houses. There is a temple in the middle of
Bihar. The temple is 400 feet in length, about 350 feet in width, Height 70 feet. In the
evolution of time, the upper part of the temple has collapsed. On the outer wall, there are Buddha statues, Hindu goddesses, and a lot of burnt clay paintings.
These figures depict the diverse lives of ordinary people. The walls of the
main enclosure of Bihar are about 20 feet wide. There is another temple in the
enclosure.
The central temple:
The
ruins of the central temple are located in the middle of the open courtyard in
the middle of the Bihar. Wonderful the main temple is an unparalleled symbol of
architectural art. Across the walls of the temple are found about 2,000
beautiful terracotta figurines. It has dispersed the reflective image of
ordinary people's lives in ancient Bengal. For example, people, hunters, dancing
women, shepherds, plants, flowers, animals, elephants, horses and more. When
you look around you can see the aesthetics of aesthetics. There is no sign of
the top of the temple, so nothing can be said about the roof.
Bathrooms
and toilets:
It
is basically an installation located outside Bihar. A number of baths and toilets
were built on a platform 27m south of the southern wall of Bihar. It is
connected by a high barrier path to room number 102 of Bihar. Below this
path, there is a vaulted arch parallel to the Bihar wall.
Sandhyabatira Ghat:
From
the southeast corner of Bihar, there is a banner outside the wall. It is called
sandhyabatira gorge. Daughter of King maidalanera sandhyabati bathed regularly at
the ghat. A river was flowing along the Bihar. On each side of it, each wall is
1.5m wide. From the surface, the ferry slopes down about 12m.
How to go to Paharpur Buddhist Vihar:
From
any part of the country, you can come to Naogaon town and go straight to the
historical place Paharpur from Naogaon Baludanga bus terminal.
2. Mahasthangarh
Mahasthangarh is one of the Historical
Places after Paharpur. To my knowledge, Mahasthangarh and one of the historical
places of Bangladesh.
About Mahasthangarh:
Mahasthangarh is the present name of
ancient Pundranagari which belongs to the Shivganj police station in Bogra
district. This place has a 4,000-year-old structure. The powerful Mauryas,
Gupta and other kings used Mahasthangarh as their provincial capital. Pundranagar
has been used as the main capital of the Pala kings. The collapse of this huge
city is located on the western side of the river Karatoya, which not only Bogra
but also holds the past heritage of the whole of Bangladesh.

Mahasthangarh:

stone pillars are stored.
